Fe-Al-Cr coatings with different content of Cr additive were prepared on 1045 carbon steel substrates by a laser cladding process. The incorporation of Cr atoms can effectively enhance the corrosion resistance of the coatings. In particular, the Fe-28Al-5Cr laser cladding coating exhibits the best film quality without phase segregation. In addition, the interfacial adhesion between the Fe-28Al-5Cr coating and the 1045 carbon steel substrate is improved. As a result, the Fe-28Al-5Cr laser cladding coating exhibits the best corrosion resistance in a 3.5 wt% NaCl solution under both immersion and electrochemical conditions. However, excessive Cr additive lead to the formation of Al8Cr5 in the grain boundaries, resulting in inferior corrosion resistance. Therefore, the new findings demonstrated in this work may inspire the design of high-quality coatings with excellent corrosion resistance.

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick-borne infectious disease caused by SFTS virus, and the number of SFTS cases increased year by year in China. Previous studies had indicated that gut microbiome closely associated with human health and diseases, including infection diseases, liver diseases, gastrointestinal diseases and metabolic diseases. The aim of this study is to investigate the alterations and involvements of gut microbial in SFTS patients. We compared the gut microbiome of 26 SFTS patients between 20 health controls using the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform. Reduced gut microbiota diversity and dramatic shifts of fecal microbial composition in SFTS patients were observed compared with health controls. In the intestinal microbial of SFTS patients, the Lachnospiraceae and Ruminococcaceae which could produce short-chain fatty acids were clearly dropped compared with health people, meanwhile, Sutterella which have anti-inflammation properties were reduced too. On the contrary, some common opportunistic pathogens like Enterococcus and Streptococcus and endotoxin-producing bacteria Escherichia which could rise the risk of infections were increased in SFTS patients than healthy people, in addition lactate-producing bacteria Lactobacillaceae also significantly increased in SFTS patients. In addition, research findings on the correlation between gut microbiota and biochemical data found that the changes of gut microbiota of SFTS patients were closely associated with clinical symptoms, key serum enzymes, infection and mortality. These alterations of gut microbiome in SFTS patients suggest the potential contributions of gut microbial to the pathogenesis of SFTS.

In this work, the surface integrity (surface morphology, microstructure, microhardness, residual stress) of contact fatigue (CF) samples with different numbers of running cycles was comprehensively studied. Based on typical working conditions, a fatigue life evaluation method was proposed based on the evolution law of surface integrity. The CF with different numbers of running cycles revealed that the average grain size decreased with the increase in the number of running cycles, and the surface microhardness, residual stress and surface roughness Ra increased first and then decreased. In addition, the relationships between different surface integrity parameters and fatigue life were plotted. Moreover, based on the fatigue life profiles, the running state and remaining life of gear samples can be evaluated.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has swept the world, posing a serious threat to people's lives and health. Several cases of COVID-19 infection in renal transplant recipients (RTRs) have been reported, but the treatment and prognosis have not been fully elucidated. We followed-up with RTRs infected with SARS-CoV2 in our center and classified them as five clinical types—asymptomatic, mild, moderate, severe, and critical. The immunosuppressive agents were not adjusted in asymptomatic carriers and mild patients, the former was mainly treated by isolation, and the latter was treated by low-dose intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) to enhance immunity. For moderate or severe patients, the immunosuppressive agents were largely reduced or even interrupted, low-dose IVIG was adopted, and low-dose methylprednisolone (MP) was used to inhibit inflammation and rejection. Immunosuppressants were discontinued early in critical patients; IVIG, high-dose MP, and antibiotics were used. Meanwhile, all patients received at least one antiviral drugs. After aggressive treatment, three patients developed acute kidney injury, and two showed reversal, while the remaining one lost the allograft kidney; one patient died, while other patients were discharged. For different clinical types of RTRs infected with COVID-19, personalized therapies were essential, Meanwhile, patients with COVID-19 infection may have different outcomes due to their different clinical manifestations.
