Jarkko Rautio is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the School of Pharmacy, University of Eastern Finland (UEF). After receiving his Ph.D. in 2000, he has held various positions at the UEF and conducted postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, as well as two stints at GSK, NC, as a visiting scientist. His research focuses on chemistry-based methods, especially prodrugs, to overcome drug delivery liabilities of problematic drug candidates.
