Dr. Mingyao Liu received his medical and initial research training in China. He was a Research Assistant Professor at SUNY Buffalo and then a postdoctoral fellow at SickKids Research Institute in Toronto. He has been a Senior Scientist at Latner Thoracic Research Laboratories, University Health Network since 1995. He has been a Professor at Temerty Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery, University of Toronto since 1996. He has been a James and Mary Davie Chair in Lung Injury, Repair and Regeneration University Health Network since 2017. His research focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of acute lung injury, especially during lung transplantation.
