This article addresses the problem of lateral control problem for networked-based autonomous vehicle systems. A novel solution is presented for nonlinear autonomous vehicles to smoothly follow the planned path under external disturbances and network-induced issues, such as cyber-attacks, time delays, and limited bandwidths. First, a fuzzy-model-based system is established to represent the nonlinear networked vehicle systems subject to hybrid cyber-attacks. To reduce the network burden and effects of cyber-attacks, an asynchronous resilient event-triggered scheme (ETS) is proposed. A dynamic output-feedback control method is developed to address the underlying problem. Conditions are derived to obtain the output-feedback controller and resilient asynchronous ETS such that the closed-loop switched fuzzy system is globally exponentially stable. Examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and merits of the proposed new control design techniques.

The challenging problem of robust formation control pertaining to omnidirectional robots with model uncertainty and actuator saturation is comprehensively investigated in this article. First, an observer-based formation controller is designed to ensure the semiglobal uniform ultimate boundedness of the system's formation tracking error. Then, both global stability and practical finite-time stability are achieved to ascertain the practicality of the observer design. Apart from restricting the control input amplitude, we also investigate the reverse effect caused by saturated and coupled control input. As such, an adaptive compensator is formulated to attenuate the state oscillation caused by the reverse effect. Both numerical simulations and hardware-in-the-loop experiments are carried out to illustrate and evaluate the effectiveness and potentials of the proposed new techniques for real-world applications.

Knowledge tracing (KT) is an intelligent educational technology used to model students’ learning progress and mastery in adaptive learning environments for personalized education. Despite utilizing deep learning models in KT, current approaches often oversimplify students’ exercise records into knowledge sequences, which fail to explore the rich information within individual questions. Additionally, existing KT models tend to neglect the complex, higher-order relationships between questions and latent concepts. Therefore, we introduce a novel model called Feature Crosses Information-based Knowledge Tracing (FCIKT) to explore the intricate interplay between questions, latent concepts, and question difficulties. FCIKT utilizes a fusion module to perform feature crosses operations on questions, integrating information from our constructed multi-relational heterogeneous graph using graph convolutional networks. We deployed a multi-head attention mechanism, which enriches the static embedding representations of questions and concepts with dynamic semantic information to simulate real-world scenarios of problem-solving. We also used gated recurrent units to dynamically capture and update the students’ knowledge state for final prediction. Extensive experiments demonstrated the validity and interpretability of our proposed model.

In recent years, the results of view-based 3D shape recognition methods have saturated, and models with excellent performance cannot be deployed on memory-limited devices due to their huge size of parameters. To address this problem, we introduce a compression method based on knowledge distillation for this field, which largely reduces the number of parameters while preserving model performance as much as possible. Specifically, to enhance the capabilities of smaller models, we design a high-performing large model called Group Multi-view Vision Transformer (GMViT). In GMViT, the view-level ViT first establishes relationships between view-level features. Additionally, to capture deeper features, we employ the grouping module to enhance view-level features into group-level features. Finally, the group-level ViT aggregates group-level features into complete, well-formed 3D shape descriptors. Notably, in both ViTs, we introduce spatial encoding of camera coordinates as innovative position embeddings. Furthermore, we propose two compressed versions based on GMViT, namely GMViT-simple and GMViT-mini. To enhance the training effectiveness of the small models, we introduce a knowledge distillation method throughout the GMViT process, where the key outputs of each GMViT component serve as distillation targets. Extensive experiments demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method. The large model GMViT achieves excellent 3D classification and retrieval results on the benchmark datasets ModelNet, ShapeNetCore55, and MCB. The smaller models, GMViT-simple and GMViT-mini, reduce the parameter size by 8 and 17.6 times, respectively, and improve shape recognition speed by 1.5 times on average, while preserving at least 90% of the recognition performance. The code is available at https://github.com/bigdata-graph/GMViT .

While highly influential in deep learning, especially in natural language processing, the Transformer model has not exhibited competitive performance in unsupervised graph representation learning (UGRL). Conventional approaches, which focus on local substructures on the graph, offer simplicity but often fall short in encapsulating comprehensive structural information of the graph. This deficiency leads to suboptimal generalization performance. To address this, we proposed the GraKerformer model, a variant of the standard Transformer architecture, to mitigate the shortfall in structural information representation and enhance the performance in UGRL. By leveraging the shortest-path graph kernel (SPGK) to weight attention scores and combining graph neural networks, the GraKerformer effectively encodes the nuanced structural information of graphs. We conducted evaluations on the benchmark datasets for graph classification to validate the superior performance of our approach.

This work investigates the observer-based asynchronous boundary stabilization for a kind of stochastic Markovian reaction-diffusion neural networks with exogenous disturbances. Specifically, parameter uncertainties are considered in the drift item. First, a hidden Markov model is introduced that guarantees the observer modes run asynchronously with the system modes. It should be noted that the asynchronous observer constructed in this work only uses the boundary measurement information. Then a nonfragile asynchronous observer-based boundary controller is designed. Taking advantage of inequality techniques and stochastic analysis method, sufficient criterion is provided to satisfy input-to-state exponentially mean-square stability, and the asynchronous boundary observer/controller gains are further derived. As a special case, the synchronous observer-based boundary stabilization is also obtained. Finally, a numerical example is exploited to manifest the validity of the established results.
