Renato Filjar, b.1963, is a Full Professor of Electronics Engineering with Faculty of Engineering and Centre for AI and Cybersecurity, both University of Rijeka, Croatia, and a Chair of Laboratory for Spatial Intelligence, Krapina University of Applied Sciences, Krapina, Croatia, and . He holds BSc (1987), MSc (1994), and PhD (2007) degrees, respectively, in Electronics Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia. His research interests include: (i) Ambient-Aware Application-Aligned (AA)2 PNT; (ii) spatial uncertainty quantification, (iii) spatio-temporal statistics, statistical learning, and prediction modelling; (iv) trajectory analysis and prediction, (v) occupancy detection and modelling, and (vi) anomaly detection. Dr Filjar is a Fellow of The Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN), London, UK; Member of the Institute of Navigation, Manassas, VA; Senior Member of the Union radio-scientifique internationale, Ghent, Belgium, and a Member of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), Philadelphia, PA. He received The RIN J E D Williams (Silver) Medal for his contribution to the understanding of space weather effects on satellite navigation. Prof Dr Filjar established and organises traditional annual Baška SIF (Spatial Intelligence Forum) in Baška, Krk Island, Croatia.
