Mircea Stoian received his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology “George Emil Palade” of Târgu Mureș in 2013. He began his career as a military physician and later continued in civilian healthcare, specializing in anesthesiology and intensive care. Since 2012, he has been a senior physician in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Mureș County Clinical Hospital, where he currently serves as Head of Department. In parallel, he holds an academic position as a Lecturer at the same university, being actively involved in teaching and research. His professional expertise covers advanced anesthesia and critical care management, with a focus on sepsis, ARDS, perioperative medicine, and the role of biomarkers in critical illness. He has contributed as principal and sub-investigator in multicenter clinical trials and is a member of professional societies such as SRATI, ESICM, ASA, and ESPEN.
