My research focuses on the efficient utilization of water, fertilizer, and soil resources in agricultural systems, particularly under arid and saline conditions. I am interested in understanding the interactions among soil physical processes, nutrient dynamics, and crop growth, with an emphasis on improving water–fertilizer use efficiency and soil quality. My work integrates field experiments, controlled studies, and modeling approaches to investigate soil water–salt transport, soil structure evolution, and plant–soil–microbe interactions. I also develop and apply crop growth models (e.g., based on evapotranspiration) to quantify crop responses to environmental and management factors. More broadly, my academic interests lie in coupling soil–water–plant processes with data-driven and mechanistic models to support sustainable agricultural management and enhance crop productivity under resource-limited conditions.
