Doc. Ing. Lýdia Sobotová, PhD. is an Assoc. Professor at the Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. She graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VŠT Košice in 1983. She received her PhD in “Mechanical Technology and materials” from the Technical University of Košice in 1992 and in November 2010, she became an Assoc. Professor in Mechanical Technology and Materials. From 1983 to May 2012, she worked in the Department of Mechanical Technology and Materials. She was involved in metal forming, material testing, material joining and progressive mechanical technologies (laser, water jet). Since June 2012, she has worked as an Assoc. Professor in the Department of Business Management and Environmental Engineering. Her scientific focus is the recycling of materials, material joining, disassembly, production waste, and the environment. She is the author and co-author of 6 scientific monographs and 6 university textbooks. She has published more than 442 publications in home and foreign journals and conference proceedings, where many of them are published in databases, e.g., CC, WoS and Scopus. She has also been involved in various grant research projects (APVV - 15-0327 - Development and research of methods of optimization of acoustic properties and acoustic quality of noise-emitting devices) and industrial projects. Member of ESFRI – European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures – Climate, delegate of the Slovak Republic.
