Prof. Dr. Jie Song currently works at the Software Engineering Department of the School of Software at Northeastern University and is the head of the Big Data Management and Machine Learning Research Team of the School of Software. He received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Northeastern University and did his postdoctoral research at the University of Toulouse III in France. In 2010, he returned to China to teach through talent introduction and became a postdoctoral fellow at Neusoft Group. His main research areas are big data storage and management, green computing, and machine learning applications. He presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth, General, and Key (Sub-project) Projects, the Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China General and Doctoral Start-up Projects, as well as five provincial and ministerial projects, and presided over eight school-enterprise cooperation projects. He has led or participated in the design of big data storage and analysis platforms in the fields of transportation, ocean, fishery, industry, Internet of Vehicles, finance, aerospace, etc. He has published forty papers in Chinese and English journals as the first author, written two academic monographs, and obtained nine invention patents. He is a senior member of the China Computer Federation (CCF).
