Paul Vargas Jentzsch is a Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Mayor de San Simón (UMSS), Cochabamba, Bolivia. He obtained a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from UMSS, and later his PhD degree in Natural Sciences (doctor rerum naturalium) at the University Friedrich-Schiller Jena, Germany, in 2012. He was a researcher on the Prometeo Project from 2014 to 2015. He has been involved in teaching and research activities at the UMSS, Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE) and, since 2016, the Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN). His research interests include fields such as applications of vibrational spectroscopy for quality control, food safety, water treatment, and many others related to environmental sciences. He has published tens of articles in prestigious international journals and also participated as a reviewer for several publications of Elsevier, Wiley, MDPI, and Springer.
