Dr. Manmeet Mahinderjit Singh is an educator and
Cybersecurity researcher at the School of Computer Sciences, University Sains
Malaysia (USM). She graduated from The University of Queensland, Australia in
2012 with a Ph.D. in Data Security. She obtained her M.Sc and B.Sc in the field
of Computer Science from the Universiti Sains Malaysia and specialising in
Security and Distributed Systems. Before joining the academic field, she gained
vast experience in the computer/laptop hardware and software services industry.
Presently, her expertise is in Information and Cyber Security, Trusted System
Architectures and Models, Internet of Things (IoT) Security, Smart devices
Security and Mobile Security. She has an interest in Data Mining Technologies
and Sensor Networks. She also has an interest in the applicability of smart
devices technologies such as connected devices in smart home, smart city,
wearable devices and Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) models. She has been
awarded several innovations and academic awards. Among the awards are being
nominated as one of the Top 10 Women In Security Malaysia 2020, Gold medallist at ITEX
2020, Korea Academic Innovation, Innovation Award for Penang Science, Research
Excellences Service (USM - 2016 and 2019), etc.
