Biography

Andreas Hober graduated from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2017 with a Master of Science in Engineering and was awarded the Honnörsstipendium (Best Graduate of the Year), within the Biotechnology programme. His master’s thesis project was performed in the group of Targeted Proteomics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, headed by Prof. Mathias Uhlén. He was enrolled as a PhD student in 2018 with Prof. Mathias Uhlén as his main supervisor and thereby continued his research within proteomics. So far, his research has resulted in an article in Nature Communicationson validation of antibodies for use in Western blot applications. Furthermore, Mr. Hober was one of eight finalists in the HUPO PhD Abstract Competition at the 17thHuman Proteome Organization World Congress in Orlando, FL, USA. Andreas Hober’s research is centered around method development for mass spectrometry, with a focus on targeted proteomics methods for more sensitive assays. This is a field that has exploded within the last years thanks to extensive development of the mass spectrometers as instruments, increasing their throughput and sensitivity. Within his research, Hober has implemented mass spectrometry in a number of projects and enabled the methodology for many different purposes, both as tool for validation of research reagents, which has already resulted in an article in Nature Communications, and for stratification of patient cohorts based on treatment regimen.
