Prof. Santos was the Superintendent
of the Hospital for Rehabilitation of Craniofacial Anomalies of the University
of São Paulo (HRAC-USP) from June 2019 through April 2024. He was the Vice-Dean
and Dean of the Bauru School of Dentistry of the University of São Paulo
(FOB-USP), respectively, from March 2014 through March 2018 and March 2018
through March 2022. Currently he is the Vice-Dean of FOB-USP, elected for a
4-year term in March 2022. As a dentist who graduated from FOB-USP, he is a Full
Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences of the same school. He holds
a Master's and a PhD in Sciences (Pharmacology) from the Ribeirão Preto School
of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) and completed a visiting-student
doctorate program and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical College of
Wisconsin. He also worked as an editor and member of the advisory board of important
national and international scientific journals, is a full member of the
Brazilian Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (SBFTE) and the
International Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research (IADR), in
addition to having been coordinator of the Health area of the São Paulo
Research Foundation (FAPESP) from 2008 to 2019.
