Xiaoyan Li is a Professor at the College of Earth Sciences, Jilin University, Changchun, China. She completed her Ph.D. studies in Cartography and Geographic Information Science at the Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006. She has been awarded the third prize in Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress—Research on soil fauna diversity and its protection in the middle and western plains of Jilin Province. Her research interests include remote sensing of resources and environment; GIS applications, and she currently has a particular focus on urbanization and its environmental impacts on the black soil region of Northeast China, aiming to coordinate regional development and environmental protection.
