Dr. Alessandro Pingitore works as a scientist at the Institute of Clinical Physiology (National Research Council), Pisa, Italy. He received his Master’s degree in Medicine from the University of Pisa in 1991 and completed his PhD in Cardiovascular Physiopathology at the University of Milan in 1997. His main areas of research are non-invasive cardiac imaging (echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging), the thyroid–heart relationship, cardiovascular prevention, stratification of cardiovascular risk in patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease, and extreme physiology.
