Professor Ruben Gatt is a Professor in the Faculty of Science (University of Malta). Not only that, since 2023, he has served as a Chief Scientific Officer at Smart Materials Limited. Professor Ruben Gatt received his degree in Biology and Chemistry in 2004; then, he completed his Master and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the current university he works at now. He has published over a hundred papers and has been cited by over three thousand publications, with a h-index of 41. His research topics mainly include auxetic materials, negative thermal expansion materials, negative compressibility, mechanical metamaterials and biomaterials science.
