Dr. Muneeb is an Assistant Professor/Junior Scientist at the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, SKUAST-K. He obtained a Ph.D./MS in Floriculture and Landscape Architecture from SKUAST-Kashmir. He completed a postdoctoral program at the Centre for Agricultural Research & Innovation (CARI), Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Punjab, India where he worked on the propagation and expansion of high-value horticulture crops in non-traditional areas. He has five years of research, teaching, and extension experience. He has authored more than 35 research articles, 5 review articles, 7 book chapters, and 6 edited books (international). He is a member of the American Society for Horticultural Sciences (ASHS), International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), Society for Plant Research (SPR), Just Agriculture, and Society for Bioinformatics and Biological Sciences. He was a recipient of the MANF fellowship from the University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India, the Himadri Young Scientist Award from ISHRD, and a Fellowship from the Society of Plant Research (Vegetos, Springer). In addition to the number of publications in reputed journals, Dr. Muneeb is actively involved as a reviewer in many reputed publishing houses like PlosOne, Frontiers, Elsevier, and ISHS. His current area of research interest includes DUS testing and germplasm screening, plant biotechnology, mutagenesis, and soilless cultivation.
