Romina J. Glisoni is a pharmacist (2008) and holds a PhD from the University of Buenos Aires (2012). She is an Independent Researcher at the NANOBIOTEC Institute UBA-CONICET (FFyB-UBA, Argentina). For ten years, she has served as the Head and Teaching Coordinator of Galenic Development in the Specialization Program in Industrial Pharmacy (FFyB-UBA). She has also been an Adjunct Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology (TFII-FFyB-UBA) and the Vice President of the Argentine Association of Nanomedicine (NANOMED-AR). Romina has co-authored numerous international scientific articles and is engaged in both national and international scientific collaborations in related research areas. Her expertise lies in the synthesis and chemical modification of biodegradable copolymers and amphiphilic copolymers that form polymeric micelles, as well as the study of other nanocarriers for the encapsulation, stabilization, and release of drugs and proteins.
In recent years, she has been deeply involved in the chemical modification of the surfaces of various nanostructures using active ligands (aptamers, antibodies, sugars, others) for targeted diagnosis and treatment of cancer and in the design and development of nanovaccines. Currently, she is focused on the preparation of glyconjugates and the study of different administration routes and applications. Glisoni provides technical consulting and R&D activities related to technology transfer for renowned pharmaceutical laboratories in the country.
