Andrés Amaya obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Universidad Santiago de Cali, Colombia. He then pursued his Master's studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) under the supervision of Dr. David Morales, focusing on the synthesis of POCOP-Ni(II) pincer complexes, which were investigated as potential anticancer compounds. He is currently pursuing his PhD at UNAM with Dr. David Morales, synthesizing bimetallic Ni(II) and Pd(II) pincer complexes to be studied in different cancer cell lines.
