Valery G. Vlasenko was born on April 29, 1961. He is a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (2019) and a Chief Research Scientist at the Research Institute of Physics, Southern Federal University (SFedU), where he has been working since 1980. Research interests: X‑ray emission and absorption spectroscopy of solids, local atomic and crystal structure of coordination compounds, and quantum‑chemical modeling of the structure and spectral properties of transition metal complexes. He is the author of more than 750 scientific publications, including 2 monographs and 10 patents. His publications include 265 articles indexed in Scopus, with an h‑index of 19. Over the period 2016–2021, 87 papers were published in Scopus‑indexed journals.
