Graduated in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Brasília (1999) of which two years were studied at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Kansas (1995 to 1997), a Masters in Water and Environmental Engineering from the University of Surrey (2001) and a PhD from the University of Surrey (2005). From 2006 to 2007 he carried out a postdoctoral work at the research laboratories of Health Canada (Ottawa, Canada). He is currently a professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Victoria (Victoria, Canada). Caetano has extensive experience in the area of ​​Sanitary Engineering, with emphasis on Simplified Water Treatment Processes. Since 2013, he has been a Special Visiting Researcher linked to the Graduate Program in Regional Development and Environment (PGDRA) at the Federal University of Rondônia.
