Prof. Dr. Murat Bas is a Professor and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University in Istanbul, Turkey, where he also serves as the Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. He graduated from Hacettepe University’s Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in 1994 and completed his MA (1997) and PhD (2002) at the same institution. He began his academic career as a research assistant at Hacettepe University and later held faculty positions at Başkent University before joining Acıbadem University in 2013 to establish its Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. His research interests include the Mediterranean diet, metabolic syndrome, food safety, mindful eating, and diet quality. He has published extensively, with 87 documents, over 2,100 citations, and an h-index of 23 according to Scopus.
