Carey Jewitt is Professor of Technology and Learning, at University College London (UCL) and Chair of the UCL Collaborative Social Science Domain. She has a training in Fine Art and sociology (MSc) and her work explores the development of multimodal theory and methods, and methodological innovation at the intersection of technology, the arts and social sciences. Carey is Director of InTouch an ERC Consolidator Award which investigates the sociality and sensoriality of digital touch technologies for communication. She is editor of the journal Multimodality & Society. And her most recent book is titled Interdisciplinary Insights for Digital Touch Communication (2020, Springer-Nature HCI series).
