Prof. Dr. Gang Liu received his B.Sc. degree of Engineering in Radio Technology from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1991, his M.Sc. degree of Engineering in Electromagnetic Measurement Technology and Instruments from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1994, and his Ph.D. degree in High Voltage and Insulation Technology from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1998. He is a professor at the School of Electric Power Engineering, South China University of Technology. His research interests mainly focus on the application of artificial intelligence technology in power equipment under the guidance of information entropy theory, high-voltage equipment status assessment and life prediction based on integrated micro-meso-macro structure and performance, the interface performance regulation of power equipment using multi-field coupling analysis of an electric-magnetic-thermal-structural nature, power grid thermal stability planning and scheduling based on electric-thermal coupled power flow, and power equipment overvoltage and its protection based on the energy spectrum.
