The broad inclusiveness of digital inclusive finance is essential for promoting coordinated regional development. This paper focuses on the impact of digital inclusive finance on creating county enterprises, discussing its heterogeneity in terms of region and type of entrepreneurship and revealing the mechanisms by which this set of impacts works. The methodology integrates the 2015–2020 Peking University Digital Inclusive Finance Index, business registration data from the industrial and commercial sectors and statistics from counties in Henan Province. The results show that digital inclusive finance can significantly promote the creation of county enterprises. All secondary dimension indices show positive effects; this result remains when replacing the core explanatory variables and lagged terms. Heterogeneity analysis finds no significant heterogeneity in the entrepreneurial effect of digital inclusive finance between urban and rural areas and types of entrepreneurship. The mechanism analysis finds that digital inclusive finance can promote the creation of county enterprises through two paths: improved financing and mobile payment. These findings reveal that we should use digital inclusive finance to improve the breadth and depth of financial services within the county and take advantage of its mobile payments to promote micro and small businesses.
The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infectious pneumonia pandemic highlights the importance of emergency management of public health emergencies (EMPHE). This paper addresses the challenge of building a knowledge system for EMPHE research that may contribute to understand the spatial and temporal characteristics of knowledge distribution, research status, cutting-edge research and development trends, and helps to identify promising research topics and guide research and practice of EMPHE. Based on the Web of Science, this paper retrieves 1467 articles about EMPHE published from 2010 to date. Then, based on high-frequency keywords, we use CiteSpace to analyze their knowledge co-occurrence network, clustering network and knowledge evolution. Furthermore, we summarize the features and gaps in EMPHE research, providing references for future research directions. Based on the above analysis, this work constructs a knowledge system about EMPHE research, providing a comprehensive visual summary of the existing research in the field of EMPHE, with the aim to guide future research and practice.
Rural settlements in Northeast China have undergone significant changes in the process of rapid urbanization, which has profoundly affected food production and the process of sustainable rural development. Based on multi-period remote sensing interpretation data of land use and economic statistics, this study quantitatively analyzes the temporal and spatial pattern change characteristics and influential factors of rural settlements in Northeast China from 2000 to 2020. The results show that: (i) Between 2000 and 2020, the area of rural settlements in Northeast China increased by 190,603.03 hectares, which accounts for 7.62% of the total rural settlements area, and 129 counties (cities) (70.88%) increased the area of rural settlements; (ii) The expanded state of rural settlements presents a low spatial distribution pattern in the northwest and high spatial distribution pattern in the southeast. The core density value of rural settlements in the north decreases, and the core density value in the southeast increases slightly. In addition, the landscape pattern of rural settlement expansion is irregular and there was increased disturbance from settlement expansion; (iii) A total of 81.6% of the land occupied by the expansion of rural settlements comes from cultivated land. The soil’s organic matter content is 10.0 g/kg–20.0 g/kg, and the high-quality cultivated land occupied by the expansion is 218,274.17 hectares. However, it is interesting that the expansion of rural settlements coincides with the increasing number of hollow villages. From 2000 to 2020, the utilization degree of rural settlements in Northeast China decreased by 56.97%; (v) The main factors affecting the changes of rural settlements in Northeast China are water resource conditions, terrain conditions, traffic location, and the level of county economic development. In areas with superior agricultural production conditions, the influence of various factors on the change of rural settlements is more obvious.
Understanding the historical change of agricultural landscape patterns is the basis for promoting the sustainable development of cultivated land, as well as appropriate decision-making. In order to analyze spatio-temporal changes of cultivated land in Sanjiang Plain, from 1985–2015, Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) and Operational Land Imager (OLI) were used to reconstruct satellite data of land use and land cover. Additionally, twelve landscape indices were selected to analyze landscape pattern changes and to compare the differences of cultivated landscape changes between the agricultural region and the reclamation region. Studies suggested that during the past 30 years, cultivated land in the study area grew rapidly, with a rapid growth of paddy fields and a slow reduction of dry farmland. This trend was more obvious in the reclamation region than it was in the agricultural region, where both dry farmland and paddy fields showed a growth trend in the past 30 years. Our study showed that paddies have become the dominant agricultural landscape and that fragmentation of paddy fields has decreased, while dry farmland has increased over the past 30 years, within the entire study area. Different management modes have caused major differences between the agricultural region and the reclamation region.
