Claudio Stefanelli (Ph.D.) is a full professor of biochemistry and the head of the Department for Life Quality Studies. He completed his Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1987. His main research
interests are biochemical mechanisms involved in the response to cellular stress
and their effects on cell growth and cell death. His specific projects include the following:
1. Polyamine functions and metabolism. 2. Molecular mechanisms of cell growth
and cell death. 3. Molecular aspects of cellular stress. 4. Hormonal response to exercise. 5. Biochemical mechanisms of action of anticancer molecules.
