Biography

Prof. Wei Sun is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Central South University, and the dean of the School of Resource Processing and Bioengineering. He is a distinguished professor of the Yangtze River Scholars Program and an excellent talent of the New Century by the Ministry of Education. He is also the secretary-general of the China Mineral Processing Council, the deputy director of the Hunan Key Laboratory of Rare Metallurgy and Material Preparation, and the director of the China Nonferrous Metals Society. Given the characteristics of poor, fine, and mixed mineral resources in China, and the requirements of national clean production, he has carried out basic theoretical research on the molecular design of flotation agents, particle-bubble interface interaction and regulation, fine particle aggregation and dispersion behavior mechanisms, and wastewater recycling. He has developed mineral processing agents and new technologies for tungsten ore, phosphate ore, fluorite, nickel-molybdenum ore, and low-cost treatment technology for mineral processing wastewater, and applied the research results to production practice.
