Dr. Huixue Dong is an associate professor and master’s supervisor at the Triticeae Research Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Her research focuses on the discovery and breeding utilization of genes related to wheat quality formation and maintenance. Using a research strategy combining forward and reverse genetics, she elucidates the important molecular basis and signal regulatory networks controlling wheat quality formation and maintenance, identifies gene resources with significant breeding value, and provides guidance for high-yield molecular breeding of wheat. In recent years, she has published 11 academic papers as first author (or co-author) in international journals such as The Plant Cell, Molecular Plant, New Phytologist, Plant Biotechnology Journal, and Journal of Integrative Plant Biology. She has led projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Project and the 14th Five-Year Plan National Key Research and Development Program for Young Scientists.
