Ida Genta received her master's degree and Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Pavia (Italy) and a post-graduate specialization degree in Industrial Pharmacy. Her main recent research line deals with tailored formulations of targeted smart nanocarriers (antibody-conjugated and/or specific biopolymers) for the tunable and selective delivery of synthetic drugs and macromolecules (i.e., proteins, RNAs) as well as diagnostics/contrast agents. Main therapeutic areas include cancers (i.e., desmoplastic tumors), and cardiovascular and chronic inflammatory diseases. Great expertise in developing GMP-oriented microfluidics-based techniques and apparatus for the manufacturing of novel lipidic and polymeric nanocarriers. She is deeply involved in designing and developing 2D/3D scaffolds for tissue regeneration (bone, cartilage, soft tissues) by electrospinning and 3D printing technologies and combining biocompatible synthetic/natural polymers, and/or small entities (i.e., peptides, newly synthesized peptides, and peptidomimetics). Since 2024, she has been a full Professor for Pharmaceutical Technology in the Department of Drug Sciences at the University of Pavia. She is the coordinator of the II-level master's degree in Pharmacy.
