Prof. Dimitrios Georgakellos

Dr. Dimitrios A. Georgakellos is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Piraeus and Director of the Executive MBA post-graduate program. He received his graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and his doctoral degree in Business Administration from the University of Piraeus. He has more than fifteen years’ worth of project experience in the private sector. Furthermore, he has been the President of the Negotiations Committee of the Greek National Organization for the Provision of Healthcare Services. His current academic and research interests focus on environmental economics and management, technology and innovation management, business plans preparation, and entrepreneurship and energy management. He has had more than 120 scientific articles published in local and international journals and conference proceedings. Some of his work has been published in the following journals: Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management, Energy, Energy Economics, etc. He has been the scientific coordinator or member of the research team of many research projects. He is member of the Senate of the University of Piraeus, while he is currently Vice President of the Research Committee of the University of Piraeus Research Center.
