An appropriate pH value of liquid fertilizer can enable crops to better absorb nutrients from fertilizers. However, the mixed liquid fertilizer with high concentration of liquid fertilizer and irrigation water has a high pH value, which affects the absorption of nutrients by crops. Therefore, the precise regulation of liquid fertilizer pH value is an important link to realize the integration of water and fertilizer in modern agriculture. Due to pipeline transportation and diffusion of the regulating liquid and liquid fertilizer, the pH value control system has the characteristics of time-varying, non-linear and time-delayed models, and it is difficult for ordinary controllers to accurately control the pH value of liquid fertilizer. Therefore, modern agriculture urgently needs a controller that can adapt to non-linear and uncertain systems. According to the characteristics of the pH regulation process of liquid fertilizer, this study proposes and designs a modified fuzzy-PID-Smith predictive compensation algorithm, which adds the fuzzy-PID algorithm to the predictor of the conventional Smith algorithm to compensate for the error between the actual and theoretical models in order to reduce the decline of control quality caused by the model mismatch to the control system. To verify the practicability and robustness of the algorithm in practical applications, a liquid fertilizer pH value control system with STM32F103ZET6 as the control core was developed. The pH control system with fuzzy-PID and Smith algorithm as controller was used as the control group. The model was simulated and tested under two conditions of exact matching and imprecise matching, and performance tests were carried out under different output flow rates. The results showed that the maximum overshoot of the modified fuzzy-PID-Smith predictive compensation algorithm was significantly less than that of the other two algorithms at different output flow rates, with an average of 0.23%. The average steady-state time of adjusting the pH value of liquid fertilizer from 7.3 to 6.8 was 72 s, which was superior to the 145 s and 3.2% of fuzzy-PID and 130 s and 1.4% of the Smith controller.
It is well known that welding dissimilar metals can play the advantages and characteristics of those different metals, but it is easy to encounter some problems. In this paper, the thermomechanical behavior of the weldolet–branch dissimilar steel joints in different welding cases is analyzed by establishing a three-dimensional finite element model, and the predicted thermal cycling and residual stresses are verified using experimental tools. The results show that the high temperature area and the heat affected zone on the side of the branch pipe are larger, and there is a large stress gradient at the fusion line on both sides of the weld. Too high or too low temperature between welding layers will cause large residual stress, thus, 200 °C is more suitable for the welding of weldolet–branch joints. The residual stresses of path-1, path-2 and path-3 have similar distributions at 0° and 180° sections, and the circumferential and axial residual stresses on the inner surface are larger than those on the outer surface. The residual stress on the inner and outer surfaces of path-3 is smaller than that of path-1 and path-2 at the 90° and 270° sections as a whole, and the residual stress at the 90° section reaches the minimum.
Heat-transfer enhancement and entropy generation were investigated for a double-helical-type-channel heat sink with different rib structures set on the upper wall. Based on available experimental data, a series of simulations with various turbulence models were conducted to find the best numerical model. Five different rib structures were considered, which were diamond (FC-DR), rectangular (FC-RR), drop-shaped (FC-DSR), elliptic (FC-ER) and frustum (FC-FR). The research was carried out under turbulent flow circumstances with a Reynolds number range of 10,000–60,000 and a constant heat-flow density. The numerical results show that the thermal performance of the flow channel set with a rib structure is better than that of the smooth channel. FC-ER offers the lowest average temperature and the highest temperature uniformity, with a Nusselt number improvement percentage ranging from 15.80% to 30.77%. Overall, FC-ER shows the most excellent performance evaluation criteria and lowest augmentation entropy-generation number compared with the other reinforced flow channels.
