Dr. Aura Salmivaara (female) is a researcher at the Natural Resources Institute, Finland (Luke). She graduated from Aalto University with a DSc (Tech) in water and environmental engineering in 2015. Dr. Salmivaara has been involved in producing soil moisture maps for Finland, and in using machine learning methods for developing forest trafficability and soil moisture mapping. She has experience in geoinformatics, spatial data integration, analysis, modeling and mapping of soil hydrology, and nutrient export, and has authored 18 peer-reviewed publications.
