The stable control of the active magnetic bearing rotor (AMB-rotor) system is the key technology for a magnetically suspended control moment gyroscope (MSCMG), which is used in spacecraft attitude control system. The nutation and precession instability caused by strong gyroscopic effects is the principal issue of the AMB-rotor system. In order to solve the gyroscopic effects problem, a state-space model of the radial four-degree-of-freedom AMB-rotor system is established, and the strong gyroscopic effects term varying with rotor speed is regarded as a bounded perturbation. The regional pole assignment method of an uncertain system is used to design a robust controller to maintain the system stability over the full rotor speed range. However, the controller designed by regional pole assignment method does not consider the influence of closed-loop stiffness of the magnetic bearing, which will lead to the start-up oscillation and structural mode self-excited oscillation problems. Therefore, on the basis of regional pole assignment, the system stiffness is further constrained and a robust controller is solved. Experiments show that the designed controller can not only deal with the start-up oscillation and the structural modal vibration problems, but also can achieve the stable control of the nutation and precession.

Displacement sensors are the key components of the active magnetic bearing rotor (AMB-rotor) system to realize the closed-loop control of the rotor displacement. The aging and failure of the displacement sensor components will lead to the changes of sensor sensitivity and zero point, which can directly affect the suspension performance of the rotor and even cause the instability of the AMB-rotor system. Therefore, it is significant to calibrate the sensor regularly. This article proposes a self calibration method based on the detection and control of the magnetic bearing current without additional calibration equipment and hardware circuits. In addition, a new control structure of the AMB-rotor system is proposed to achieve efficient calibration, which can control the rotor displacement based on current following control method. Finally, experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method on the displacement sensor calibration.
High-precision two-dimensional direction of arrival (2D-DOA) estimation is an important mean of millimeter-wave radar for accurate target location. Aiming at the problems such as limited antenna aperture, signal coherence, and a few snapshots in millimeter-wave radar target detection, this paper proposes a 2D-DOA estimation method by using a joint iterative adaptive approach and rotational invariance technique (IAA-RIT) based on the double-parallel linear array. This method first constructs an iterative adaptive approach spectrum based on subarray 1 in the double-parallel linear array and then calculates the coupling angle estimate with the azimuth and the elevation. Secondly, based on the rotational invariance relationship between the two subarrays, the extended covariance matrices are respectively constructed, and the spatial smoothing technique is employed to decorrelate the signals. Then, the signal direction matrix is reconstructed based on the coupling angle estimate, and the rotational invariance relationship between the two subarrays is calculated to obtain another set of coupling angle estimates. Finally, the azimuth and the elevation are decoupled based on two sets of estimated coupling angles and the spatial geometry relation. Our experimental results show that IAA-RIT can estimate the coherent signal with high-precision 2D-DOA with a few snapshots and no additional angle matching.
The rotational speed standard device that can carry loads is the key device for calibrating passive rotational speed sensors. The rotor of the passive rotational speed sensor is connected to the rotor of the standard speed device through a coupling, and the standard reference speed is provided by the standard device. Due to the rotor eccentricity, the unbalanced force of the rotor occurs, and it can not only affect the rotational speed accuracy but can also damage the mechanical bearings of the standard speed device. To solve this issue, a method for suppressing the unbalanced force of the speed standard device based on an active magnetic bearing (AMB) force compensation system is proposed. First, the overall structure of the system is briefly introduced. Then, the force feedback control system model with the AMB as the force actuator is established, and a PI controller is designed to achieve the disturbed force control. Finally, a semi-physical simulation experimental platform is built to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the AMB force compensation system can reduce 84.4%, 81.6%, and 79.8% of the unbalanced vibration force at the frequency of 30 Hz, 90 Hz, and 150 Hz, respectively.
