Eleonora De Santis earned, at the University of Rome La Sapienza, a Master's degree in Environmental Analysis and Monitoring (2020). Subsequently, she was a research fellow at CREA, Research Centre for Engineering and Agro Food Processing, in Monterotondo (RM) (2022-2023), focusing on the development of a sustainable technology for the bioconversion of residual biomass through the saprophagous activity of Hermetia illucens L. (black soldier fly). She is currently a PhD student in Civil Engineering at University of Naples Federico II, with the aim of optimizing biohydrogen production processes by dark fermentation from agro-industrial waste. Her research interests include circular economy, biorefinery, waste biomass, bioconversion, dark fermentation, and biohydrogen.
