Prof. Dr. Wonsop Shin began his studies in forestry in
1978, when he entered Chungbuk National University. After graduating from
college, he continued his studies in Canada. He earned a master’s degree at
Brunswick University and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, majoring
in social forestry (forest recreation). He is a professor of social forestry at
Chungbuk National University and serves as Vice President of the International
Society of Nature and Forest Medicine (INFOM). He is interested in the study of
the psychological and physiological effects of the forest environment on
humans.
