Professor Dr. Vento is director of the Neonatal Research Group at the University and Polytechnic Hospital La Fe, Valencia, Spain. His basic and clinical research for more than two decades has been focused on oxidative stress, hypoxia-ischemia, perinatal oxygen toxicity, fetal to neonatal transition, and resuscitation. His ground-breaking research has lead to changes in practice in neonatal medicine.
