Prof. Huaneng Su is a professor and doctoral supervisor at
the Institute for Energy Research, Jiangsu University. He earned his BS and MSc
from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University in
2002 and 2005, respectively. From 2007 to 2010, he studied Applied Chemistry at
South China University of Technology and obtained his PhD. From 2011 to 2012,
he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of the Western
Cape-South African Institute of Advanced Materials Chemistry (SAIAMC). He
mainly engaged in solid electrolyte water electrolysis hydrogen production and
high-temperature fuel cells. He then stayed at the institute as a senior
researcher and participated in the South African Hydrogen Energy Project (HySA,
a national 15-year long-term strategic project). He served as the Head of the
R&D Group, responsible for the research and development of high-temperature
membrane fuel cell electrodes and their application in combined heat and power
(CHP) systems. Currently, he is mainly engaged in the development and
application research of polyelectrolyte membrane fuel cells and solid polymer
water electrolysis hydrogen production electrodes/membrane electrode
engineering. He has presided over eight projects of various types, including the
National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation, and
published over 100 papers.
