Dr Elias Christoforides is a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Laboratory, Department of Biotechnology, Agricultural University of Athens (AUA). His academic training at AUA includes a degree in Agricultural Biotechnology (2004), an MSc in Supramolecular Chemistry and Natural Products Chemistry (2008), and a PhD in Structural Biology and macromolecular and small-molecule crystallography (2013). His research focuses on supramolecular and inclusion chemistry, cyclodextrin-based systems, X-ray crystallography, physicochemical and spectroscopic characterization, phase-solubility studies, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. He has contributed to 42 crystal structures deposited in the Cambridge Structural Database (37 published) and is an approved synchrotron radiation user at PETRA III and the Swiss Light Source. Since 2016, he has held teaching appointments at AUA, the University of West Attica, and Aegean College. He has participated in five funded research projects and received three national research scholarships, including two postdoctoral fellowships from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). His research output includes 24 peer-reviewed articles, one book chapter, and more than 40 conference presentations (Scopus h-index: 11). He received the Nikos Oikonomakos Award from the Hellenic Crystallographic Association, co-founded its Young Researchers Group, and is a member of the Hellenic and European Crystallographic Associations.
