This paper aims to present data analysis of quadcopter dynamic attitude on a circular trajectory, specifically by comparing the modeling results of conventional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) and Fuzzy-PID controllers. Simulations of attitude stability with both control systems were done using Simulink toolbox from Matlab so the identification of each control system is clearly seen. Each control system algorithm related to roll and pitch angles which affects the horizontal movement on a circular trajectory is explained in detail. The outcome of each tuning variable of both control systems on the output movement is observable while the error magnitude can be compared with the reference angles. To obtain a deeper analysis, wind disturbance on each axis was added to the model, thus differences between each control system are more recognizable. According to simulation results, the Fuzzy-PID controller has relatively smaller errors than the PID controller and has a better capability to reject disturbances. The scaling factors of gain values of the two controllers also play a vital role in their design.

The paper presents a study regarding the possibility to develop a drowsiness detection system for car drivers based on three types of methods: EEG and EOG signal processing and driver image analysis. In previous works the authors have described the researches on the first two methods. In this paper the authors have studied the possibility to detect the drowsy or alert state of the driver based on the images taken during driving and by analyzing the state of the driver's eyes: opened, half-opened and closed. For this purpose two kinds of artificial neural networks were employed: a 1 hidden layer network and an autoencoder network.
Flexibility of manufacturing systems is an essential factor in maintaining the competitiveness of industrial production. Flexibility can be defined in several ways and according to several factors, but in order to obtain adequate results in implementing a flexible manufacturing system able to compete on the market, a high level of autonomy (free of human intervention) of the manufacturing system must be achieved. There are many factors that can disturb the production process and reduce the autonomy of the system, because of the need of human intervention to overcome these disturbances. One of these factors is tool wear. The aim of this paper is to present an experimental study on the possibility to determine the state of tool wear in a flexible manufacturing cell environment, using image acquisition and processing methods.
This study presents a detailed analysis of an air monitoring development system using quadcopters. The data collecting method is based on gas dispersion investigation to pinpoint the gas source location and determine the gas concentration level. Due to its flexibility and low cost, a quadcopter was integrated with air monitoring sensors to collect the required data. The analysis started with the sensor placement on the quadcopter and their correlation with the generated vortex. The reliability and response time of the sensor used determine the duration of the data collection process. The dynamic nature of the environment makes the technique of air monitoring of topmost concern. The pattern method has been adapted to the data collection process in which area scanning was marked using a point of interest or grid point. The experiments were done by manipulating a carbon monoxide (CO) source, with data readings being made in two ways: point source with eight sampling points arranged in a square pattern, and non-point source with 24 sampling points in a grid pattern. The quadcopter collected data while in a hover state with 10 s sampling times at each point. The analysis of variance method (ANOVA) was also used as the statistical algorithm to analyze the vector of gas dispersion. In order to tackle the uncertainty of wind, a bivariate Gaussian kernel analysis was used to get an estimation of the gas source area. The result showed that the grid pattern measurement was useful in obtaining more accurate data of the gas source location and the gas concentration. The vortex field generated by the propeller was used to speed up the accumulation of the gas particles to the sensor. The dynamic nature of the wind caused the gas flow vector to change constantly. Thus, more sampling points were preferred, to improve the accuracy of the gas source location prediction.

There is a great diversity of ways to use fuzzy inference in robot control systems, either in the place where it is applied in the control scheme or in the form or type of inference algorithms used. On the other hand, artificial neural networks ability to simulate nonlinear systems is used in different researches in order to develop automated control systems of industrial processes. In these applications of neural networks, there are two important steps: system identification (development of neural process model) and development of control (definition of neural control structure). In this paper we present some modelling applications, which uses fuzzy and neural controllers, developed on a pneumatic actuator containing a force and a position sensor, which can be used for robotic grinding operations. Following the simulation one of the algorithms was tested on an experimental setup. The paper also presents the development of a NARMA-L2 neural controller for a pneumatic actuator using position feedback. The structure had been trained and validated, obtaining good results.
The article outlines various approaches to developing a fuzzy decision algorithm designed for monitoring and issuing warnings about driver drowsiness. This algorithm is based on analyzing EOG (electrooculography) signals and eye state images with the aim of preventing accidents. The drowsiness warning system comprises key components that learn about, analyze and make decisions regarding the driver’s alertness status. The outcomes of this analysis can then trigger warnings if the driver is identified as being in a drowsy state. Driver drowsiness is characterized by a gradual decline in attention to the road and traffic, diminishing driving skills and an increase in reaction time, all contributing to a higher risk of accidents. In cases where the driver does not respond to the warnings, the ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) system should intervene, assuming control of the vehicle’s commands.
