This letter presents a new design for a circularly polarized square slot antenna (CPSSA). The proposed single-layer antenna composed of a square ground plane embedded with two unequal-size inverted-L strips around two opposite corners is capable of generating a resonant mode for exciting two orthogonal E vectors. In this model, compared to the previous CPSSA structures, the impedance bandwidth and the axial ratio bandwidth of antenna are increased, which is four times wider than the impedance bandwidth of previous similar designs. The designed CPSS antenna with size 60 × 60 × 0.8 mm3 operates over the frequency band between 2.67 and 13 GHz (4.74:1, 132%) for VSWR <; 2, exhibiting a 32.2% (4.9-6.9 GHz, 1.5:1) circular polarization (CP) bandwidth. Throughout this letter, the improvement process of the axial ratio (AR) and S\\ properties are presented and discussed in detail.

This letter presents the investigation results on a novel circularly polarized square-slot antenna (CPSSA) array designed to operate at a frequency of 5.5 GHz. In order to realize the proposed antenna array, four miniature circular polarized square-slot antennas are used with L-shape grounded strips located at the slots' opposite corners to reduce cross polarization. The antenna is fed by symmetric coplanar waveguide. The CPSSA element achieves a bandwidth of 16.6% for an axial ratio $\leq 3~$dB. The CPSSA's performance is further enhanced with the construction of a novel 2$\,\times\,$ 2 antenna array that is designed using sequentially rotated feed technique. The 3-dB axial ratio of the array extends to approximately 2 GHz with an impedance bandwidth of 31%. The CPSSA array was designed to operate over the frequency range between 4 and 6.825 GHz corresponding to an impedance bandwidth of 52% for ${\rm VSWR}< 2$ (1.71:1). Acceptable agreement between the simulation and measured results validates the proposed design.

A novel modified microstrip-fed ultrawide-band (UWB) printed Pythagorean tree fractal monopole antenna is presented. In this letter, by inserting a modified Pythagorean tree fractal in the conventional T-patch, much wider impedance bandwidth and new resonances will be produced. By only increasing the tree fractal iterations, new resonances are obtained. The designed antenna has a compact size of 25 × 25 × 1 mm3 and operates over the frequency band between 2.6 and 11.12 GHz for VSWR <; 2. Using multifractal concept in modified Pythagorean tree fractal antenna design makes monopole antennas flexible in terms of controlling resonances and bandwidth. In this letter, the improvement process of the impedance bandwidth has been presented and discussed.

A new form CPW-fed broadband circularly polarized square slot antenna (CPSSA) with three inverted-L-shape grounded strips around the corners of the slot is proposed and fabricated. In comparison to the previous CPSSA structures, the axial-ratio (AR) bandwidth of the antenna is increased, which is two times wider than the previous proposed design. By embedding the L-shape strip to the ground plane and using the vertical stub to the feed line, very good axial-ratio bandwidth is obtained. The measured impedance bandwidth and AR of the realized CPSS antenna with optimized parameters is from 2 to 7 GHz (3.5:1, 110%) for VSWR ≤ 2 and 2-5 GHz (2.5:1; 85%) for AR ≤ 3 dB respectively. Throughout this letter, the improvement process of the AR and S 11 properties is completely presented and discussed.

A novel single-layer dual band-notched printed circle-like slot antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) applications is presented. The proposed antenna comprises a circle-like slot, a trident-shaped feed line, and two nested C-shaped stubs. By using a trident-shaped feed line, much wider impedance bandwidth is obtained. Due to inserting a pair of nested C-shaped stubs on the back surface of the substrate, two frequency band-notches of 5.1-6.2 (WLAN) and 3-3.8 GHz (WiMAX) are achieved. The nested stubs are connected to the tuning stub using two cylindrical via pins. The designed antenna has a total size of 26 × 30 mm 2 and operates over the frequency band between 2.5 and 25 GHz. Throughout this letter, experimental results of the impedance bandwidth, gain, and radiation patterns are compared and discussed .

A new form of a hybrid design of a microstrip-fed parasitic coupled ring fractal monopole antenna with semiellipse ground plane is proposed for modern mobile devices having a wireless local area network (WLAN) module along with a Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) function. In comparison to the previous monopole structures, the miniaturized antenna dimension is only about 25 × 25 × 1 mm3 , which is 15 times smaller than the previous proposed design. By only increasing the fractal iterations, very good impedance characteristics are obtained. Throughout this letter, the improvement process of the impedance and radiation properties is completely presented and discussed.
