Dr. Hongbo Zhang enrolled in a Ph.D. degree in optical communications at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China, in 2014. In 2013, he received a government-sponsored doctorate from Bangor University, Bangor, UK. In 2018, he was appointed as a designated researcher at Tokai University in Tokyo, Japan. He used to work as a senior project engineer at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and has rich experience in scientific research and engineering development. He is currently a lecturer at the Chengdu University of Information Technology, Chengdu, China. His research interests include high-speed optical communication system design and wireless communication technology and applications. Moreover, he is a member of the China Institute of Communications (CIC) and a reviewer for international SCI journals such as “Optical Engineering” and “IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology”.
