Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess the effect and correlation of gender, body mass index (BMI) and quadriceps femoris (QF) muscle strength on patellar tendon (PT) thickness and stiffness in healthy sedentary individuals. Methods: This study was carried out with 67 (36 female, 31 male) healthy sedentary individuals between the ages of 18e44 (28.0 ± 7.5 years). The individuals included in the study were divided into two groups according to their gender and BMI (18.5 < BMI < 25 and 25 < BMI). The body composition was determined with Tanita Body Composition Analyser. PT thickness and stiffness was measured with ACUSON S3000 Ultrasonography Device using 9L4 ultrasonography probe. QF concentric muscle strength of the individuals was measured with Biodex® System 4 Dynamometer at 60/sec angular speed. Results: It was found that PT stiffness was higher in males compared to females (p < 0.001). It was found that PT stiffness was lower in obese individuals compared to individuals with normal weight (p ¼ 0.017). A negative and weak correlation was found between BMI and PT stiffness (r ¼ 0.26, p ¼ 0.032), whereas a negative and moderate correlation was found between fat percentage and PT stiffness (r ¼ 0.50, p < 0.001). A moderate correlation was found between BMI and PT thickness (r ¼ 0.54, p < 0.001). It was found that peak torque at 60/sec angular speed had a moderate correlation with PT stiffness (r ¼ 0.44, p < 0.001) and PT thickness (r ¼ 0.45, p < 0.001). Conclusions: PT stiffness is correlated and affected by gender, BMI and QF muscle strength whereas PT thickness is correlated and affected only to BMI and QF muscle strength.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to culturally adapt, validate and investigate the Turkish version of Cognitive Failures Questionnaire (CFQ) in university students. Methods: Reliability was assessed using the Interclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and confidence interval %94-96. In the study, three hundred and fortyfive students completed both CFQ and Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI) who were in the examination term and average age were 20.9±1.8 years. Results: The present study, 265 (76.8%) of the participants were female 80 (23.2%) of were male. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients and ICC’s at time 1 and time 2 were as follows: 0.90 (Confidence Interval (CI) 95%; 0.85—0.94); 0.93 (CI 95%; 0.89—0.96). The mean difference was 0.25 with 95 % CI–2.30 to 3.11. Thirtysix of the students were retested within twice over 2 weeks to assess test-retest reliability. The Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r=0.39; p<0.001) revealed strong relation between CFQ and TAI total score. Turkish version of CFQ was found reliability and validity and responsive instrument for evaluating cognitive failures in university students. Discussion: The people’s own perception of changes in their cognitive status is the most important indication of the success of the interventions. Individual-reported outcomes (IROs) specifically give the people’s perspective. While the Turkish version of CFQ is found a reliable and a valid PRO, CFQ’s use is recommended in terms of field studies and researches related with students. However, it should be studied with larger samples and different illnesses.
As technology continues to develop, children are spending more time in front of screens, which can lead to significant problems. For children aged 5 years and above, screen time of 2 or more hours per day on average is considered problematic. This study aimed to investigate the impact of screen exposure on screen addiction and sensory processing in typically developing children aged 6–10 years. The study analyzed 74 children who had a screen exposure time of 2 h or more and 71 children who had a screen exposure time of less than 2 h. The Dunn Sensory Profile was used to evaluate sensory processing skills, and the Problematic Media Use Scale was used to measure screen addiction. The group with high screen exposure showed statistically significant differences in screen addiction, distraction, and sedentary factors (p < 0.05). No significant differences were found in other parameters. Based on these findings, it has been determined that excessive screen exposure leads to a more sedentary lifestyle, increased screen addiction, and distraction in typically developing children aged 6–10 years. It is important to consider the duration of screen exposure in typically developing children aged 6–10 years and to conduct further studies on this topic.
Background: The COVID-19 is a major health crisis affecting th whole world. Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of the COVID-19 on perceived stress, ways of coping with stress, self-control and self-management skills. Methods: This study was conducted on 882 participants. The Perceived Stress Scale, Stress Coping Style Scale, Self-Control & Self-Management Scale were used to assess participants’ perceived stress, coping stress strategies self-control skills. Results: The total score of the perceived stress of 882 participants were found to be 28.35 ± 8.23. It is seen that 60.3% of the participants have moderate level stress. Seeking of social support is the most preferred coping strategy. Conclusions: In our study, it has seen that people have moderate stress levels during the pandemic process. It is predicted that strategies such as social support and improve self-control skills play an important role to keep people's stress balance or reducing along that period.

The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) is a person-centered assessment tool frequently used to identify occupational problems in older individuals and establish goals for geriatric rehabilitation. This study aims to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of COPM (COPM-TR) in older people.Materials and methods: One hundred older people completed the COPM-TR, and 25 of them participated in a retest within two weeks. The convergent construct validity analyses of the COPM-TR included conducting correlation analyses between the COPM-TR and the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and Lawton Brody Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (Lawton-IADL) scales. The Performance and Satisfaction subscales were subjected to an item analysis for the internal consistency of the COPM-TR. A test-retest analysis was conducted to investigate the reliability. Results: According to convergent construct validity analysis, it was found that there is a moderate correlation between COPM-TR performance and FIM (r = 0.51), and a strong correlation between Lawton IADL (r = 0.62). Similarly, there was a strong correlation between COPM-TR satisfaction and FIM (r = 0.61) and Lawton IADL (r = 0.61). Test-retest reliability was excellent for performance score and good for satisfaction score (ICC values 0.92; 0.78, respectively). COPM-TR showed excellent-high internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha 0.92 for performance and 0.88 for satisfaction). Conclusion: COPM-TR is a valid and reliable tool that can be used to assess occupational performance in older people.
