Dr. Jun (Nina) Shao is an Associate Professor in the School of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University, China. She received her Ph.D. in Human Geography from Peking University in 2011 and was jointly educated by the Laboratory for Intelligent Systems in Tourism in the Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University. She also serves as a researcher in the Center for Recreation and Tourism Research at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Peking University, China. Since January 2015, she has been an Editorial and Review Board Member for the International Journal of Tourism Cities. Her research interests include rural landscape, recreational behavior modeling, smart destination planning, and marketing, with a particular focus on the role of social media.
