Mutasim Nour is the Associate Director of External Relations and Industry Engagement at the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the Dubai Campus. He is also the Director of studies for the MSc Energy and Renewable Energy Engineering programs at the Dubai Campus. Before joining Heriot-Watt University, he was an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. He served as a consultant to several companies in the areas of energy storage, efficiency control of AC Machines, and energy-saving solutions. He was also the co-investigator of research funded by the Malaysian Government on the development and commercialization of smart hybrid storage systems employing supercapacitors for PV solar systems and hybrid electric vehicles. He is currently involved in different research projects in the fields of solar PV integration to the grid, energy demand management, energy efficiency, renewable energy storage systems, fuzzy logic control, and applications of artificial intelligence in power systems.
