Christopher Small is a Lamont Research Professor in the Marine and Polar Geophysics division of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of Columbia University in Palisades, NY, USA. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (DEES) at Columbia University in the City of New York. He received his master’s degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and his Ph.D. in Geophysics from the Scripps Institute Oceanography, University of California San Diego in 1993. His current research interests include intersectional geophysics, land surface processes (natural and anthropogenic), optical spectroscopy, and spatiotemporal network dynamics.
