I have a broad and solid background in childhood disabilities, with specific expertise in LMIC settings. I completed my Ph.D. study in the Institute of Integration in the Community at the Salamanca University, Spain and in the Utrecht Medical University, the Netherlands (2008-2012 - Doctor Europeus). Since 2015, I am a full professor at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte – FACISA and I am currently involved in research projects on participation in children with disabilities and global Health. In 2018, I was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship and I was a Visiting Professor at the National Institutes of Health.
