More than 22 years of experience in phenotypic and genotypic investigations of antimicrobial resistance in pathogenic bacteria. This includes studies on plasmid typing and antimicrobial resistance transmission. For the last nine years focus has been on bacterial typing methods using WGS analysis by designing and validating web-based bioinformatic tools at the Technical University of Denmark, National Food Institute DTU-FOOD. In addition, The current position at SSI involves working as a PI with a speciality in implementing surveillance based on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and WGS analysis of resistant human bacterial pathogens and their plasmids originating from human infections in Denmark as well as the rest of the World. This is done in the group for antimicrobial resistance (AR), which is part of the Section of Microbiology and infection control.
