Jian Zhao, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Alberta with a doctoral degree in Mining Engineering and is currently a postdoctoral researcher. His academic background integrates mining engineering, geothermal energy, and sustainable construction materials, with a particular emphasis on mining- and energy-related engineering applications relevant to buildings and underground infrastructure. His research focuses on the development of low-carbon, high-performance cementitious materials for mining and geothermal applications. In addition, he advances data-driven and machine learning–based approaches for the design, optimization, and performance prediction of cement-based materials.
Dr. Zhao has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and actively serves as a reviewer for several international journals. He is committed to promoting high academic standards, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative research at the interface of mining engineering, energy systems, and sustainable materials.
