Currently working in wool and hair research and in non-isothermal kinetics, and as a consultant for the textile and hair care industries. Graduated from textile chemical engineering studies at Shanghai Textile Engineering Institute, now Donghua University (China), and earned a PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Bucharest (Romania); more than 40 years of work in industry and academia in the fields of the physics and chemistry of polymers and fibrous proteins, textile and keratin chemistry, and kinetics of solid-state processes. Worked as wool expert for US AID-sponsored project to consult on the Mongolian wool industry and as Cashmere and wool expert for German Agency for Technical Cooperation-sponsored projects assisting the Mongolian wool and cashmere industry. Lectured on textile chemistry at the University A. Vlaicu, Arad, Romania, and RWTH Aachen, Germany, and on wool chemistry and chemical processing at the University of High Alsace, Mulhouse, France. Authored more than 150 scientific publications, holds 12 patents, wrote or contributed to 18 books and monographs, and has given over 60 invited presentations. Appointed Adjunct Research Fellow of TRI Princeton, USA; member of the Romanian Society of Colouring Chemists, for which, acted as Chairman; has acted as Chairman of the “Product Group” of the International Wool Textile Organization, IWTO; past Chairman of the Scientific Commission of International Confederation of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, ICTAC.
