Ibukun M. Ogunade is an Assistant Professor of Livestock Production at Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, West Virginia University. Prior to this, he served as a Research Assistant Professor of Livestock Nutrition at Kentucky State University. He received his BS and MS degrees in Animal Nutrition from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and earned a Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Florida in 2017. His Livestock Nutrition Lab at WVU is studying how nutritional interventions, including sustainable use of feed additives, impact the gastrointestinal microbiome and metabolome of ruminants to improve the efficiency of ruminant production systems. His research program also applies metabolomics and metagenomics to understand the mechanisms that cause differences in the feed efficiency of ruminants.
